Cherae and Kevin had a gorgeous idyllic wedding in Idyllwild, CA. The super sweet couple wanted a small, no-fuss wedding and they had one in a peaceful state park. The two met online in 2014 and their first date was at popular burger joint Red Robin. Wait staff had to tell the couple that they were talking for over THREE hours at their table. Time just flew by and the duo soon found out they grew up just a couple blocks from each other. What a cool story. Congratulations Cherae and Kevin!

How did the two of you meet? In 2014 we met online and hit it off immediately and have been together ever since. Our first Date was at Red Robin and they actually had to bring it to our attention that we had been at the table for over 3 hours talking away. Time just flew by. We found out almost a year after us dating that we actually grew up a couple of blocks from each other even though we never met. Describe your engagement: He took me to Huntington State Beach (Our Spot) and right before we left we walked down by the water and that’s where he got down on one knee and asked “will you marry me”. Personal or handmade details: For a wedding gift I gave Kevin a journal with pictures and stories from our time being together. I made sure to only fill half of it and in the middle is the OUR ADVENTURE BOOK from Disney’s Up and wrote “Now it’s time for even more adventures together”. Describe your Flowers: I ordered silk flowers from Etsy. I wanted them to last forever I send her a picture of what I wanted and they came out perfect and I also ordered the boutonniere’s for Kevin and my son through her as well and they all matched perfectly. www.TheFauxBouquets.com Memories and Stories about the Day: We went through a lot of drama through our whole engagement. But as soon as I got to see Kevin’s face when he turned around during our First Look, I realized all of it was worth it. I found someone who loves me unconditionally as I do to him. We kept making each other laugh so much that most of our pictures we look so funny in because we were trying to stay serious. Your first dance song: We didn’t have actual reception so we didn’t have an official first dance. But before we got changed when we got home Kevin put on “Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley and we danced in our bedroom to it. The thing that we would have done differently is? I wouldn’t have let people bully us into having something we didn’t want. In the end we ended up having the perfect wedding that we both wanted, but we went through a year of drama to get it that way. All that matters is that you and your soon to be spouse are happy and on time same page. If we could have spent our wedding dollars differently, we would have: We paid for everything out of our own pockets. We made everything that we could ourselves and bought whatever we needed on sale. I think we did an amazing job and got to save a ton of money to spend on our honeymoon, which was just what we wanted to do. I don’t think we could have changed a thing. Your advice for other plus size brides: Be yourself and do what makes you happy. Plus Size doesn’t mean you’re not able to have everything you’ve ever dreamed of. There is just more of you to love. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? How natural it feels. I don’t know if it’s just because we’ve been together so long or just because we are best friends. But we’ve both never been happier and we both feel more relaxed now that all the stress is gone from planning a wedding.
