ENGAGEMENT | Queen Mary Engagement Session | Bright Bird Photography

Today’s engagement is all about this couple’s love for Long Beach so of course they would pick one of their favorite places there.  Queen Mary is a ship that takes you back to a glamorous and regal time. And of course I’m digging the leather jacket and tulle skirt that Sarina is wearing. Love!

Tell us about your engagement session: We live in Tampa Florida and wanted a special place for our engagement photos.  To us these were photos that were going to be cherished forever, not just for cards.  The Queen Mary in Long Beach is one of our most favorite places.  Johnathan took me there in May of 2013 and well the rest is History.  I fell in love with him and the ship during that trip!  Tell us about your first meeting: It was at an Irish Pub! Our first International trip together was 8 months after that meeting and of course it had to be Ireland!  Tell us about your First Date: I wish I could say it was some romantic dinner on a deserted island, but just a lovely dinner at Texas De’ Brazil! Tell us about your First Kiss: I wish I could remember….I think it was in the driveway of my house!  HAHA!!! Tell us about the proposal: Like everything in our lives the proposal was over the top and not expected! On Valentines Day 2016 Johnathan gave me a pop up card of London and my gift was as trip to London in November.  So off to London we went over the Thanksgiving holiday week.  On Monday Nov. 21st we woke up to a rainy and cold London day.  I was told we had a full schedule, much to my complaining about just having a “chill day”!  He said at 2pm we had a “private” tour of St. Paul’s Cathedral and when we arrived (in our soaking wet clothes I might add) there was a big pink box waiting on the front steps.  I kind of figured out what was about to happen, however that was the start of a journey to the very top of St. Paul’s which is about 600 tiny little spiral steps up (I’d like to add that I was wearing wet jeans and a winter parka…no glamour attire that day).  At about step 400 I figured out that we were being followed and apparently photographed all the way up.  No makeup, wet hair, and wet jeans…yeah me!!! At the top were about 5-6 people waiting for us with signs “Will you Marry Me?”….can’t exactly say no at that point (however, no never crossed my mind). The best part of the proposal is that I never expected it and he did an amazing job planning the entire thing and picking out the ring!
