We’re heading to gorgeous San Juan for this lovely wedding we have on tap for you today. Bride Krizia wore a White by Vera Wang dress as she walked down the aisle to meet groom Carlos. Their colors were gray, navy blue, white and blush. Krizia’s father passed away 10 years ago but before he died he gave her a ring for her high school graduation. She’s worn that ring every day since and it was worn on her wedding day. We love that personal, emotional detail. Congratulations Krizia and Carlos!
Krizia + Carlos
How did the two of you meet? We met ten years ago while cursing our freshman year of college. Describe your engagement: He originally had plan a bonfire but it rain and he was moving for work so he proposed at a friend’s house by surprise with flowers. Personal or handmade details: My father passes away ten years ago but before he died he gave me a ring for my high school graduation. I’ve worn that ring every day since and it was like he was with that day with me. Describe your wedding flowers: For me, my wedding was a formal modern style wedding with grey, navy blue, blush and white colors. It was an evening wedding with a big party afterwards yet with a personal feel with family and closest friends. We had beautiful roses (both white and blush), hydrangeas and lilies. Memories and Stories about the Day: I loved the way my bridal party made me feel so special and loved. I will not forget my baby brother’s face when he started to cry because he was giving me away (by the way he hasn’t cried since he was like 5). My husband face when he saw me for the first time like I was the prettiest thing on earth and it was our time, our day. Last, my husband singing to me our sing (which he had dedicated to me five years ago. Your first dance song: “The Girl” by City and Colour and “Everything” By Michael Bublé The thing that we would have done differently is? I should have delegated more to my bridal party and rested on the days before. It goes so fast enjoy it. Also, do not worry about every single detail. Somethings may not be how you imagine but it will surprise you how well everything will turn out. Our favorite detail of the wedding was: My favorite thing was the way the dress made me feel. I had another dress but kept feeling like I was missing something until I tried that dress. It made me feel like a bride, beautiful, sexy and most important: it made me feel like myself. Your advice for other plus size brides: Don’t worry about fitting society standard about brides. Fine your own standards. Your partner loves you for you not the number on a scale. Find that things that makes you shine and don’t settle until you find it. Three adjectives that describe the day: Modern, Evening, Grey and Navy Wedding, Puerto Rico, Elegant. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? My husband and I had lived together for years and thought that we would feel the same, but between us, I felt happier after being married. Like I know I was given someone who would love me, challenges me, makes me grow and is there for me that is only mine. Also, how special and different our relationship is from other and how wonderful that is. I have some unique that others don’t have.
