It’s a new year and all I think about is how cold it is outside but with cold weather comes amazing romance because the cold makes you just want to cuddle closer to your hunny. And this wedding by Stacey Lopez of Simply Sweet Snapshots reminds us just how gorgeous a winter bride can look; from the amazing flowers to the stunning coverup. The brides looked fantastic.
Bride’s full maiden name: Katie Lynn Fisher
Groom’s full name: Daniel George Scali
Wedding Date: December 1, 2012
Wedding Location: New Haven and Hamden – Connecticut
Wedding Colors: Black, White, Red, Green
Occupations: Dan is a Special Education Teacher at Bridgeport Central High School and Katie is a Program Manager for young adults with various intellectual disabilities
How did the two of you meet? We met via a friend on Facebook!!
Describe your engagement: Dan knows how much I love Christmas and he made our annual Christmas dinner with friends that much more special by proposing by our Christmas tree before we left! Best Christmas gift EVER 🙂
The weather on your wedding was: cloudy and COLD
Describe your wedding flowers: Red and White Tulips with Christmas Greens
The most unique element of the day: During the ceremony, a bouquet of purple tulips was presented to the Mother Mary Statue in remembrance and honor of the Brides mother while the singer and organist preformed Ave Maria
The thing that we would have done differently is? I tried so hard to take it all in that in so I could remember every second…..yet, I dont think I did it enough. It was such a perfect day/night that I wish I could remember EVERY single detail. If we could have spend our wedding dollars differently, we would have: gotten a videographer
Describe your wedding cake and any other desserts: My friend Sara made a beautiful cupcake tower with 7 different flavors combinations. She also made a small cake covered in fondant and “snow” It was beautifully decorated and everything we imagined and then some!
Describe your menu and your favorite part: We heard nothing but wonderful things about the food served at our wedding. From the cocktail hour passed hor ‘devours to the main course, everything was a big hit! Guests chose from NY Strip, Salmon Champagne, Chicken Parmigiana, and Vegetarian Lasagna. Oh, but the BEST part was probably the 200 McDoubles delivered for our guests by McDonalds at 10pm 🙂
Describe your DIY décor, if any: We had a memory table dedicated to my mother who passed away several years ago. There were votive candles and pictures and her favorite, Purple Tulips
Your first dance song: Just the Way you are by Billy Joel
Your advice for other plus size brides: Confidence is key! Try on lots of different dresses to see what works and what doesnt. I never would have thought that my wedding gown would be the one that was perfect for me! Hold your head high because you are beautiful and this is your day 🙂
Three adjectives that describe the day: EVERYTHING WE IMAGINED (and then some!!)
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? That I might have been more stressed than I thought during the planning process!! After the wedding, I felt relief….we continued to take it all in and celebrate the start to our wonderful life together!
