We featured this wedding in our Fall Issue {check it our here} but there were so many gorgeous images that we couldn’t put them all in the magazine so we decided to dedicate a whole blog post to this amazing wedding. First off it was in a vineyard and it was DIY all the way. Hello, a wedding after my own heart, DIY with wine. I’m done!!! Alright on to this fabulous wedding captured by Andi Diamond Photography.
From the bride: “I wanted the wedding to be outdoors. I love nature. I LOVE color and LOVE fresh flowers. I didn’t want a stuffy wedding. I wanted a cool, fresh and fun wedding. Cool, haha, not with that heat! I envisioned lots of fresh flowers and candles. My wedding was full of DIY projects. Flowers, decorations, centerpieces, programs/ fans, bird cage/card holder/place card holders were all either homemade or semi-homemade. I owe it all to my fabulous, beyond generous, crazy creative friend Vicky, of VK Creations! My mom was a huge help keeping me on track and diverting me from total meltdown. I kept a calendar and lists after lists of things to purchase and do.
On my wedding day an entourage of family/friends completely set everything up for the wedding. My amazing mom and bridal party kept me on schedule and calm. They got me dress and beautified. Andi Diamond Photography made me feel beautiful and I tell you that is no easy feat! They were so fun and made me relaxed!
My advice to other brides- Save where you can and spend where you have to. Try and do the best you can on every item (price wise) so when you get to those items you just can’t save on, you will have the funds for it. DIY- if you have the time and energy, because that personal touch will be worth way more than some store bought something or other. Just try and stay calm that day. No need to stress. I was eerily calm on my wedding day. I am usually a ball of anxious!
My very biggest piece of advice is NO matter what take 5 minutes at least and walk around your wedding and observe. Look at all of the decorations, the cake, the guest book, the pictures.. Take a good look, because before you know it, it will be over. I honestly tried to “take that walk around”, but unfortunately never made it. That’s why you have amazing photographers to capture those moments you didn’t quite get to see.
