REAL WEDDING | WHITE, GOLD AND COBALT JAMAICAN DESTINATION WEDDING | Merrick Cousley Photography

Todays wedding is close to my heart because I actually meet Stacy from our Pretty Pear Bride Facebook page as a bride planning her wedding and using our page for inspiration. Thanks darling! Then she migrated over to Facebook group, if you don’t know about that definitely check it out here. And we actually then became friends and started talking about her moving into the plus size bridal industry, in the near future with a fabulous idea.  Then I realized that she was actually from a place near my hometown….small world!! And I of course was thrilled and excited to share finally be able to share her wedding here because she truly is a PPB and has come full circle from planning, inspiration and then having her wedding featured. I love it.

She looked amazing in her Allure Couture bridal gown and I can’t leave out Antonio because he looked so dapper in is blue suit…..love!!! And let’s not forget about that amazing backdrop, The Moon Palace, which is beyond fabulous! Well, I’m going to just stop talking because these pictures from Merrick Cousley Photography say it all.  Congrats Stacy and Antonio!!!! We are so happy for y’all!

Tell us about your wedding: For our wedding we wanted something small and intimate. 40 of our closest family and friends traveled to Jamaica with us and we had a ball! Wedding Colors: White, Gold and Cobalt Blue How did the two of you meet? Tony and I first met in my office. He would often suggest that we should go out for a drink or dinner but he never specifically asked me out on a date. 3 years later he finally asks me to meet him for drinks and we’ve been together ever since! Describe your engagement: For News Years Eve 2015, I was recovering from a torn meniscus surgery. Instead of going out, Tony and I stayed at home. After midnight while watching some of the New Years concerts on TV, Tony came over to my side of the bed and asked me if I could get up for a moment. He turned on the song, “Promise to Love” by Kem and as we began to dance, he got down on one knee and proposed!! Personal or handmade details: I made mine and each of my bridesmaids personalized hangers for their dresses. Describe your flowers: Our flowers consisted of roses, hydrangeas and orchids Memories and Stories about the Day: It was extremely windy that day. Our ceremony took place on a deck over the water. While I did not see it, apparently a big gust of wind caused our flower arrangements to blow off of the deck into the water! The resort divers went in to get them, put them back in place and no one ever knew!! LOL – Your first dance song: This Is Why I Love You – Major The thing that we would have done differently is? Research our coordinator more before hiring. When we hired her she said that she was a wedding coordinator but in realty she served as just our event designer. I did not see her until I was just about to walk down the aisle. I was not happy at all!! The resort had preferred vendors that I could have used and may have saved myself over $3k…but we live and learn!! Your advice for other plus size brides: Definitely shop at bridal salons who specialize in plus size gowns! While many stores are carrying more stylish gown choices, there is no comparison to working with someone who knows the plus size market. From proper undergarments to fit and style choices that work for your individual shape, plus size bridal shops are the best!! Three adjectives that describe the day: Fast, Beautiful, Unforgettable What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? How easy the transition has been from single to married life.
