REAL WEDDING | Romantic Backyard Brunch Canadian Wedding | The Right Moments Photography

Kelly and Mike’s wedding started in the morning at their family’s farm in West Lorne, Ontario. The day was beautiful with the ceremony hosted outdoor joined by close families and friends. The theme was rustic and elegant with blush and green colors. Afterwards, everyone head to Four Points by Sheraton for the lunch reception. It was an intimate and casual day filled with joy and love.

How did you meet? My husband and I met through work. First friends, now husband and wife.

What is your proposal story? He was showing me his Grandmother’s ring, asking if I liked it or wanted something different. I said it was gorgeous, then he asked!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding: We wanted it to be at the Family farm in the morning sunlight, followed by an elegant brunch. Close friends and family only. Romantic with greys, creams, and muted pinks. Country, good food, good wine.

Tell us about your attire choices: I wanted something simple with lace and it had to be off-white. Sophie’s was able to alter my dress to get the off-the-shoulder look I was so hoping for.  My MOH wore a beautiful blush pink, flowing dress. The Groom and BM both wore Navy blue suits with accents of blush.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? We definitely decided to purge on his suit and my dress. We only get 1 day! (and an open bar!) We decided against a limousine for transportation. We rented a a Town car with a chauffeur instead!

What were your favorite parts of the day? I enjoyed the morning; getting ready with my family, my MOH. Seeing everyone while walking down the isle. And to be honest we were so happy once it was over to finally relax!

Tell us about your wedding flowers: One word: BREATHTAKING! They couldn’t have done a better job based on what I provided ideas of. Erie gardens was phenomenal in putting my many ideas together into a gorgeous masterpiece for my bouquets and for our arch. Our center pieces were also simple but beautiful.

Tell us about your wedding cake: We actually decided against one since our Brunch menu included a ton of fresh, decadent desserts!!

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details: My MIL personally helped with the construction of our arch from one of the old fences from the property which we draped in fabric; white lace and a blush pink satin. My MOH made the flower arrangement we hung above our head table and I made our table numbers.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions? I wore my Grandmother’s hair pin in my hair.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Morning weddings are hard – unless you are an early bird!!  Most of all just have fun planning and don’t sweat the small stuff!
