How did the two of you meet? Derek and I met almost 9 years ago at work. Describe your engagement: Derek and I were engaged for 3 years. We had many obstacles thrown in our way but were able to pull through all of them! We even bought our first home! Personal or handmade details: One of my favorite details/surprises was our Family Wedding Photo Table. I was able to get wedding day photos of all of our immediate family. It was so nice to be able to celebrate their marriages while celebrating mine. Describe your Flowers: I loved my flowers! Red is my favorite color so we used a lot of those flowers. I also love hydrangeas so we broke up some of the red with white ones. Memories and Stories about the Day: Everything goes by so fast it was such a blur. It was amazing to stand there and marry the man I love in front of all our family and friends. Your first dance song: Ed Sheeran- Thinking out loud The thing that we would have done differently is? I would have seen Derek before the ceremony so that we had more time for photos. We were between 2 songs for our first dance, Ed Sheeran – Thinking out loud and Lauren Hill- Can’t take my eyes off of you. We went with Ed Sheeran because it seemed easier to dance to. But I should have gone with my gut and picked Lauren. Your advice for other plus size brides: Be yourself and don’t worry about what other people will think! At first I was very concerned about covering my arms. But decided that I wasn’t going to cover them because I had always imagined a strapless dress. It’s you and your husband’s day and you two are all that matters. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? How much fun I would have saying husband now! I found myself working it in to every conversation I could!
