REAL WEDDING | Red and Green Missouri Wedding | For The Moment Photography

This Missouri wedding is a fun one! We are loving the autumn colors scheme of dark red and light green with brown accents. Erin and Tim had 75 guests at Hermann Hill. Their proposal story is absolutely adorable too—Tim would jokingly propose with Ring Pops throughout their relationship and finally at Christmas he put the real ring in a box of Ring Pops! How cute is that?! Read on for more of Erin and Tim’s sweet love story and wedding to match.

How did the two of you meet? I almost didn’t agree to meet Tim when he messaged me on OKCupid to tell me he had an extra ticket to the Blues hockey game, but decided to go for it. I told him to look for a bright red Gryffindor beanie. Neither of us believe in love at first sight, but it was definite like by the end of the night (the Blues lost, by the way) Describe your engagement: Throughout our relationship, Tim would jokingly propose to me with Ring Pops, asking me if I’d “Cherry me?”or “Mixed berry me?” At Christmas, I opened a box from Tim full of ring pops. In the middle was a real box…. Personal or handmade details: My mother did a TON of work. She decorated the bridal party’s reception flip flops, made the bridal party’s jewelry, our invitations, our programs as well as our Reception Survival Guide with entertainment for our guests while they waited for things to start, the escort cards and placeholders….. Describe your Flowers: Our bouquets, the groom’s boutonnieres, and the centerpieces were designed by Crystal at Hermann Florist, and she did an incredible job! My bouquet was Deep red Gerbera Daisies with brown centers, green button mums, queen anne’s lace, red hypericium berries, fern curls, and penny crest for accent. Memories and Stories about the Day you would like to share: My first look with my husband, of course, but I also did a first look with my dad and brother, which was very special to me. The day goes by so fast, and it was nice to have a few minutes with some of the most important people to me. During the ceremony, we pulled from our Irish heritage with a ring warming tradition, where our guests passed our rings around and took a moment to hold them and think good thoughts; it was lovely to put our rings on, knowing that so many people were supporting us. We love home brewed beer, and our best man and one of the ushers made cider and mead for our wedding. We tried to make our wedding fun for our guests, and really celebrate who we were as a couple. Your first dance song: It Only Took A Kiss by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy The thing that we would have done differently is? I didn’t want a wedding videographer because I thought who really sits down to watch their wedding video? However I’m really sad that I didn’t at least get our toasts on camera – they were so heartfelt and memorable and I wish I could watch them again! If I could have done it differently I would have hired a Wedding Videographer to capture the best moments so we could relive the day for years to come. If we could have spend our wedding dollars differently, we would have: There is nothing I would have changed. Doing a lot of things DIY enabled us to save money and be able to get everything we wanted. Your advice for other plus size brides: I was worried because I wasn’t a size 2 that I wouldn’t look pretty, but I found there are a lot of places that cater to plus size brides! Also, if someone offers to help, TAKE THEM UP ON IT! My mother was incredible and helped so much, and I don’t think I could have pulled off half the things she was able to. She saved my sanity. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? How it didn’t feel like anything between my husband and I had changed. We were still the same old people who love to play board games and play kickball and take walks with our dogs. And that’s how I think it should be – if it’s right, marriage should be a natural step, not some huge relationship-altering thing.

Vendor Love: Photographer: For The Moment Photography | Wedding Planner: my mom, Darla Guthrie | Invitations & Calligraphy: my mom, Darla Guthrie | Jewelry: My engagement ring came from Shane Company, our wedding rings are replicas of The One Ring from Lord of the Rings. My mom made my earrings and necklace, and the bracelet was a gift from my father that he bought in Afghanistan while serving over there | Bride’s Attire: Allure W271 from Wedding Creations in Washington MO. I am OBSESSED with it! We went to 5 shops to try dresses on, and I had a huge pimple on my chin. That dress made me feel gorgeous, despite the state of my complexion at the time | Bridesmaids Attire: David’s Bridal (9006DB01) | Groom and Groomsmen Attire: Stallone’s Formal Wear | Ceremony and Reception Location: Hermann Hill; Hermann, MO | Music/Entertainment: TKO DJs | Rentals and Décor: the chair covers were the venue, the centerpieces were by our florist, but the table signs and banners, as well as the escort cards and holders, were handmade by my mother | Officiate/ Minister: Ruth Ellen Hasser
