How did the two of you meet? We met on Eharmony Describe your engagement: Mike proposed to me on the beach in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Personal or handmade details: We made welcome bags for our guests that we had delivered to their rooms upon arrival. The bags included; Advil, ear plugs, welcome letters, the wedding itinerary, do not disturbed door handle signs, splash balls, pool floats, bug spray, pepto, waterproof cellphone holders and we made personalized tumbler cups, wine cups and can cozies. We also made custom sunglasses for all the wedding guests that were sitting out for them to grab as they arrived at the ceremony. Describe your Flowers: My flowers were absolutely perfect! A cascading bouquet of Star Gazer Lilies and purple/blue orchids. Memories and Stories about the Day: Our first look. It was a special private moment for just the 2 of us. I would suggest it for all couples. It made the walk down the aisle so much more relaxing and something we can actually remember. We also did a trash the dress photo session 2 days after it was so much fun ☺ Your first dance song: God Bless the Broken Road – Rascals Flatts The thing that we would have done differently is? Since we did a destination wedding, I would have requested a room away from our guests. We ended up next door to my parents for the entire wedding week trip.. Too much family time right next door to each other 😉 The other thing I would have done differently would have been to get everyone on the guest lists email address so I could have followed up on RSVP’s via email. For our reception at home we had to call over 40 people who didn’t rsvp and email would have been more efficient I feel like. If we could have spend our wedding dollars differently, we would have: Moved to another resort and stayed down there a few more days to have some alone time and time to relax. Your advice for other plus size brides: Especially if you are considering doing a destination wedding, check out all possible resorts on face book to see if they have a closed group for brides getting married at the resort. The Majestic Colonial did and it was the most valuable information I could have received. It literally made planning a destination wedding a piece of cake. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? How hard it is to remember to use my new last name!
