REAL WEDDING | Blue and Gold Arizona Golf Resort Wedding | Laura Gordillo Photography

Yvonne and Jit were married in September of last year at the gorgeous San Macros Golf Resort in Chandler, AZ. We are just adoring the fun the two had throughout their big day, and it clearly shows in these spectacular photographs. Photographer Laura Gordillo even managed to capture the pure joy when groom Jit whispered “You look beautiful” to Yvonne as she walked down the aisle. Cue the tears! We are honored you shared your wedding with us and wishing you many happy years ahead!

How did the two of you meet? On the dating website okcupid. We chatted for 3 days and then I asked him out. Describe your engagement: He surprised me after dinner at the compass room at the Hyatt Phoenix with a room that had 3 dozen roses, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne. It was intimate and special. He had already talked to my parents about proposing. Personal or handmade details: The guest book was a painting done by my friend Roxanne. The favors were personalized glasses with candy in them. The table numbers and place cards. Describe your Flowers: My bouquet was blue roses with white calla lilies and peacock feathers and hand tied with rhinestones. Memories and Stories about the Day: Having my 89 year old grandma at my wedding was very special. It was fun meeting my husband’s parents from India and seeing them dance and have fun with everyone. I was married by a family friend who had also married my parents. Dancing for most of the night with friends and family, it was so nice to have a father daughter dance. A very special part of the day was when we were reading our vows and both of us became teary eyed. The day was full memories but the best part was that I got to marry my best friend. Your first dance song: All of Me by John Legend The thing that we would have done differently is? We should have researched more to plan our budget so that we actually stuck to it. We should have had the ceremony inside due to the heat. Select more reliable people to be groomsmen. I should have remembered to ask the caterer to save our dinner so that we could have enjoyed the whole thing later, because we did not get to finish eating because we had to walk around to the tables. If we could have spend our wedding dollars differently, we would have: We wouldn’t have done anything differently. Your advice for other plus size brides: Make sure you have someone you trust to alter your dress where needed. Being only 4’10” and plus size I knew the dress would have to be shortened and was worried about losing the trim on the bottom of the dress but my wonderful seamstress was able to take of the trim and put it back on. She was also able to let out the dress in the areas I needed it by adding in extra fabric and taking in areas that were too big for me such as the bust. What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? One thing that has surprised me is how even after marriage he can still surprise me from time to time. A couple months after our wedding he planned a romantic surprise dinner to Quissence From the Photographer: Yvonne & Jit were married on September 26th, 2015 at the lovely San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, AZ . I started photographing the bride in the bridal suite. Grandma, mom, and bridesmaids were there. Chatting it up, laughing, applying makeup-you know all that fun stuff! Meanwhile, my lovely assistant Tarisa captured the groom and his groomsmen. The bride was calm and overjoyed her wedding day had finally arrived. I was able to sneak away to capture a bit of the groom’s pics and he seemed a bit nervous, anxious and excited! Jit wanted to keep it traditional, and wanted to wait to see his lovely bride as she walked down the aisle for the first time instead of doing a first look before the ceremony. He faced backwards so he wouldn’t see her. He then turned around and had his eyes closed until his best man told him to open them. The look on his face was PRiCELESS as he saw his gorgeous wife to be walk towards him. As she walked down the aisle I saw him whisper to her “You look beautiful” I KNOW TEAR!!! I thought that was the sweetest thing EVER!! It melted my heart!I cannot explain what an honor it was to capture their love! I was fortunate enough to be able to take their engagement pictures a several months ago and we had a GREAT connection! I knew their wedding would turn out AMAZING! THANK YOU so very much for allowing me to be your photographer! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
