Yes, this wedding had sooooo many amazing shots from Flick Foto that we had to break it up into two parts. So today we are highlighting the wonderful reception.
From my perspective (Laura), other than marrying the man of my dreams, the most important aspect of my day was the father-daughter dance. Since my father had passed away from his cancer, I did not get the traditional father-daughter dance, but I prepared a slideshow of pictures of my dad and the song that he and I always used to dance to, “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole. I was certain that I was not going to be able to sit through the slideshow, because my dad was one of my best friends, and I really missed him being at my wedding. Even though I was in tears the whole time, I watched the slideshow – and my young cousin, my best friend, and my now mother-in-law came to comfort me and my mom during and after the presentation, which was wonderful but unexpected. I still remember it as one of the most impactful and important aspects of my day.
From my perspective (Todd), the whole day was great, and we had very few issues. For me, the best part was standing at the altar watching my wife-to-be smile as she walked towards me.
Remember that you are marrying your best friend, and try not to get too stressed out. Something will go wrong – it’s inevitable – but chances are that most people will not even notice, except for you. Stick to your guns on different aspects that are important to you – but be flexible on aspects that are not quite as important. The day will be a whirlwind, that you likely won’t remember much of – but your guests will remember having a fantastic time. Most of all, try to stay calm and have some fun. It’s your day!
