Today’s engagement session is the sweetest! It takes place in one of the most magical places in Tennessee, Carton Plantation and it just screams southern charm. The bride to be, Savanna describes it as something straight out of a fairytale and that it was. Check it out for yourself!
Savanna & Eric
Tell us about your engagement session: This garden engagement shoot was right out of a fairy tale. In between rain storms the skies opened up and we had beautiful light and sunny skies for our engagement session. My inspiration for this photo shoot was very “tuck everlasting” a classic look for Eric and very girly and whimsical for myself.. especially the floral crown, it can really make you feel like a princess. The Gardens at Carnton were perfectly in bloom, and it felt like a dream walking through the lush gardens overflowing with hydrangeas and poppys.
Tell us about your first meeting: We first met in Spanish class in high school, Eric was my teachers assistant and I was hopeless at learning a second language! Needless to say that being in class with him was a huge distraction! We first started talking over some music that he was playing in the back of the classroom. We started talking about bands, got each others’ numbers and the rest was ancient history!(7 years worth of history to be exact!)
Tell us about your First Date: We went and saw a production of the nutcracker, we were so young that it was nice to feel like you were getting dressed up to go on a fancy date. After the play we got hot chocolate and walked around in the snow until my curfew (we were babies back then!)
Tell us about your First Kiss: It was the night of our first date, and we will both tell you.. it was awkward! We were in his car, saying goodnight before he walked me up to my front door, and he kind of just went in for it. I think i was halfway through a sentence and completely not expecting a kiss! Don’t worry, we had a good laugh about it and a wonderful second kiss a few seconds later .
Tell us about the proposal: Eric took us to Savannah GA to celebrate our 7 year anniversary, booked a romantic historic bed and breakfast, and planned a romantic weekend in my favorite city. In the middle of a Wormsloe plantation tour he acted like he wanted some photos taken in front of the famous trees, and knelt down on one knee, completely surprising me, and asked me to be his wife! My best friends were in on the surprise and had flown into town to surprise me, and they were waiting around the corner after it happened, it was the best surprise ever!
