Some say that love happens in an instant and that is definitely true with Candice and Joshua. Their wedding date is one year to the date of the first night out and this couple is so in love it just radiates from the pictures. Tell us about your first meeting….When we first met it was at his house in Opelousas, LA. We remember talking to one another while I was at my sisters house in Opelousas, LA. We thought it would be perfect to meet up since both of us were in Opelousas at the time. We had been conversing on the phone for a while but finally thought it would be nice to see each other in person. Josh and I were introduced to one another through mutual friends. One of his best friends , Cardell and one of my best friends, Naomi were dating (still are dating today) thought that we would make a good pair and after Josh and I met each other in person for the first time that night, we knew it too.
Tell us about your First Date…..Our first date was April 7, 2012. We went out to eat at a chinese buffet in Lafayette, LA. It was very romantic. He taught me how to properly eat chinese noodles with chopsticks. I am not the fastest learner so the fact that he took the time to show me that was very kind, and patient in my eyes. After dinner we talked in the restaurant for quite some time and learned a lot about it each other. He was such a gentleman and it was a night I will never forget. We ended that night with him dropping me home, giving me a rose, and kissing me gently on the cheek.
Tell us about your First Kiss…..As a vacation, some friends, Joshua and I decided to travel to Mississippi together. It would be the first time Josh and I traveled together. We stayed in a beautiful hotel named IP and little did I know it would be such a great time spent in Mississippi. Joshua and I had been seeing each other for a while and still hadn’t experienced our first kiss. I think we both were very anxious that this trip would be the destination that our first kiss would happen. One evening Josh and I were being silly and I was chasing him around the hotel room with nacho cheese smeared all over my mouth. Him not wanting to get dirty with nacho cheese refused to let me catch him. That was until I had him cornered in the bathroom and he had no where to go. Without even thinking about it our first kiss had happened and it was a mess but it was one to remember.
Tell us about the proposal…..September 7, 2012, I was watching an episode of glee (which is by far one of my favorite shows) Josh on the other hand isn’t so fond it it. But because he loved me he was sitting down watching it with me. So like always I broke out into song with the episode and I noticed Joshua looking at me a bit awkwardly than usual. So I asked him why on earth he was staring at me like that. He then proceeds to say, “ I love you so much, and I can’t wait to spend my life with you. Will you marry me?” I was in such shock and out of breathe too, being that I had just got done performing and watching glee. Nonetheless, I tiredly and gladly said “Of course I will babe!”
