Vanessa and Jaime are a super sweet couple that met through the local music scene in Houston.
While on a 24 hour Paris trip, Jaime searched for the perfect spot during golden hour, next to the Siene River to propose. Vanessa was so shocked and impressed that he planned everything down to the celebratory dinner at a local French restaurant to celebrate.
Vanessa and Jaime’s inspiration behind the style for their wedding was classic but fun and modern. Vanessa instantly fell in love with Belamour Houston and their moody interior in their boutique inn and spring elements in their indoor/outdoor garden pavilion, and was was a perfect match with their theme.

How did the two of you meet? We met on the local Houston music scene way back when. We have been together for 12+ years before getting married!
Describe your engagement: We were on a day trip to Paris when we were visiting the UK. Jaime had everything planned out with my best friend that was also with us. It happened right next to the Siene River, I was in total shock!
Personal or handmade details: My something old item was a rosary necklace given to me from the Vatican. I also borrowed my dear friend’s wedding veil.
Describe your wedding flowers: I liked having the deep reds and muted greens. It was very moody but also light enough for Spring time.
Memories and Stories about the Day you would like to share: It all happened so fast and I felt so calm! I loved that my family and close friends were able to enjoy the day as well. The weather was gorgeous.
Your first dance song: “Es Por Ti” by Juanes
The thing that we would have done differently is? I would have done more traditional events like a post wedding brunch or a rehearsal dinner. My wedding was so small I didn’t feel it was necessary. But the day went by so fast I wish I had planned one more gathering to see everyone!
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Having my sister as our officiant. It felt so personal and the words rang truer because she knows us.
Your advice for other plus size brides: Stick to the style you want and go for it! I love dark eyeshadow and winged liner and love that I had that on my wedding day. Don’t feel like you have to change your style!
Three adjectives that describe the day: Fun, emotional, joyous!
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? Even though we have been together so long, it does feel different when we introduce each other as “husband/wife.” I’m surprised how much I enjoy that transition!
