CELEBRITY REAL WEDDING | Caribbean Vow Renewal of “Growing Up McGhee” | Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages Photography

America has followed Ro & Mia McGhee and their sextuplets for the past four years. Originally discovered by Oprah after a family facebook photo went viral, Growing Up McGhee‘ was born and was on the OWN network for 2 years (under the name ‘6 Little McGhees’), and has moved to UP TV for the past two seasons. The show has returned for it’s 2nd season and airs Thursdays at 9:30pm ET with all new adventures and will end the season showcasing their vow renewal ceremony on March 30!

But it wasn’t all fun and adventure with the McGhees… Ro & Mia had a tough journey leading up to the birth of the sextuplets. The couple met in high school and clicked when they both realized how similar their upbringings had been. They both suffered emotional abuse and physical neglect. Mia was forced to drop out of high school to support herself when her mother threw her out of the family homeRo grew up with a drug addicted mother, and without contact from his father.

They married when they were 18 years old, and tried for 10 years to have children. The couple endured a heartbreaking miscarriage of twins. From there, Mia went into a dark depression but through the love of her husband and her faith, she was able to pick herself back up and together they tried again to have a family.

Now, these first time parents are raising sextuplets and learning and growing each and every day. As the kids are getting older and each developing their own personality, Ro & Mia have taken leaps of faith to be the best parents they can be, including launching their cleaning business one month before the sextuplets were due so they would have the flexibility to be there for their family.

There is never a dull moment with this family! See their vow renewal photos below and click here to get an idea of a day in the life of the McGhees.

Mia & Rozonno

How did the two of you meet and when were you originally married? We originally met in high school, and got married on November 18, 1999. Why did you want to renew your vows? I wanted a vow renewal because I never had an actual wedding. Ro and I were married at our local courthouse just over 17 years ago. It has always been a dream of ours to have a renewal ceremony, and do all of the things we missed out on the first time. Ro is my best friend and husband. Having our sextuplets with us made it more special than I could have ever imagined. Good things come to those who wait. Were there any personal or handmade details in your vow renewal ceremony: My wedding gown was custom made. It truly was my dream dress. Describe your vow renewal flowers: The colors I selected represent the island of Turks & Caicos. The aqua blue for the water and sky, tan for the sand and just a little pop of corral to bring color and life. We worked with the wedding planning team at Beaches Turks & Caicos, and they did a fabulous job. What Memories and Stories about the Day you would like to share:
I will forever cherish the wedding experience. From the time I stepped off the plane until the moment I left Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, it was perfect. Is there anything you would have done differently for your vow renewal ceremony? Nothing, everything was perfect. Our favorite detail of the vow renewal was: The setting was my favorite. The tropical, romantic island. It was all natural beauty. Everything was perfect. Your advice for other plus size brides: Be comfortable in your own skin. Accept who you are and what you look like. It is your day, enjoy. Three adjectives that describe the day: Beautiful, Luxurious and Fantastic. What has surprised you most during your 17+ years of marriage? Nothing really surprises me anymore except that we made it this far.
