ANNIVERSARY | Dark and Moody Romantic Anniversary Shoot | C. Baron Photography

Have we got a treat for you today! I just love when couples come full circle.  Today’s couple has been married for 5 years and they decided to have a shoot celebrating all their many accomplishments, including their 5 years together, their furbaby turning 5, and a 5 ruby necklace. So epic!! Check it out below.

From Bride: We had the pleasure of Photographing this sweet couple’s wedding five years ago. Since they are celebrating the big FIVE this year that wanted to document where their lives have taken them in that time. They wanted to celebrate their first furbaby, their accomplishments, and all of the things they love the most. Therefore, a dark and gloomy anniversary session was born! We love how everything came together to tell a lovely, dark tale! From the Couple: I would like to think of this as a “once upon a midnight dreary” tale, but with the fairy tale ending. Five years ago, C. Baron Photography photographed the day I married the person I love most in this world. It was a day full of light, sunshine and everything nice. Since then, we have accomplished many, many things and we wanted to celebrate that! We knew immediately we wanted to have C. Baron help us document this time in our lives for us too. After all, eternity is a very long time and we will never get this exact moment in time back. However, this time I wanted to capture the opposite side of the spectrum. The very first time I met with C. Baron, they had this incredible image of a Bride in a cemetery. Honestly, it was that image that solidified that they were the photographers for us! Since then, I haven’t been able to let it go. I knew immediately that a dark and vampy anniversary shoot would be perfect for us. I have always had a deep love for the dark and macabre. I am truly obsessed with Halloween, collect anything with a raven on it and Edgar Allan Poe books. Oh and did I mention that I am a former Funeral Director? While I dreamed of a vampy and romantic anniversary shoot, I wanted to be sure that I included the parts of our life that are the most meaningful. My husband and I absolutely love to travel. Our favorite vacation was a trip to New Orleans. When we were walking around the French Market I fell in love with a necklace – it was a skull cameo. Truly, it couldn’t have been more perfect for me. I wasn’t wanting to splurge, so I passed it up. Little did I know, my husband purchased it while I wasn’t looking and surprised me with it later. I knew my cameo would make the perfect addition to my bouquet! I also wanted to incorporate the number five to signify each year we have spent as husband and wife. I chose a necklace that had five ruby red droplets, had the number five placed on top of our cake, and incorporated the roman numeral five in many ways – including on the nail of my ring finger! Most importantly, we brought our dog, Sophie, who will be turning five this year. She is such a huge part of our lives that we could never imagine not incorporating her in this day! Truly, it was a dream of a day. I can’t say enough about the day and what an incredible experience it was for us. We can’t wait to see what year five has in store for us!
