This styled shoot has such a dear place in my heart because one, it’s from my home state of Virginia by Bit of Ivory Photography, who is amazing! Check out some of her other work on our site, here. I love Va so much and it is such a great place to leave and second because second because it portrays a gorgeous plus size bride in a fabulous and stunning way. I just love seeing amazing styled shoots with plus size brides because we don’t see them nearly as often as we should. Here’s some details…and check out more detail shots on Burnetts Boards
With a passion to showcase women of all beautiful types, I wanted to bring that reality into the bridal world. Watters collaborated with me by sending one of the most beautiful gowns I’ve ever seen– a gown made of embroidered lace with a delicate oatmeal-colored tulle overlay. The shoot was completely inspired by their Sydney gown. The fluttery neckline reminded me of birds, then birds led me to cardinals (Virginia’s own state bird!)– with the red really popping against the oatmeal tulle. We normally associate cardinals with a wintry theme, but it’s springtime when cardinals are most present! With pink, cardinal red, and pale yellow as our colors, we transformed a part of the Virginia Living Museum into a beautiful setting for any wedding or bridal luncheon. Natural, a little delicately wild, and simply stunning.
