{Wedding Tip Thursday} Wedding Coordinator vs Wedding Planner

I always get this question because plus size brides don’t know what the difference is, so they don’t know which one they actually need.  And trust met there is a difference in what you get and how much you will pay for each one.

A wedding planner is just like it sounds someone who will actually plan your wedding for you.  You give input and suggestions but they will PLAN the wedding from start to finish for you.

A wedding coordinator, is also just like it sounds, someone who COORDINATES your wedding.  You, as the couple, will do most of the planning on your own and the coordinator will step in when it gets closer to the wedding and help make sure that everything is coordinated and runs smoothly.

 Now I have a Question for you.

Which one of the two do you think is more expensive?

 Yep you got it, the wedding planner is more expensive because they are actually planning the entire wedding.  They are spending more time working on the wedding; contacting and negotiating vendors and venues.  And in some cases, they may be assisting with styling and design or helping pick out a theme.  Where as the coordinator is only working the week or month leading up to the wedding pulling it all together.

Depending on how much you want to do or not do will determine which one you decide to go with.  But remember that you always get what you pay for, so if you are paying bottom dollar and the price seems to good to be true, then it might be.  And you may end up with exactly what you paid for, bottom dollar service.
