{Styled Shoot} Pink, Gold and Lace for a Plus Size Diva
The current spring issue is very near and dear to my heart because it’s our 1 year anniversary of the magazine. I feel like Pretty Pear Bride the site and magazine have been a true testament of what I feel is a huge step in a battle that has been and will be going on for quite a while, seeing plus size brides in print and online. I decided to take a leap of faith and start a site to help plus size brides because I didn’t have the guidance and inspiration when I needed it. And who would have known that my little idea would materialize into what it is now, the only magazine in the world for plus size brides. It’s amazing that what we do here has touched some many lives around the world.
And the cover to this anniversary issue was honestly supposed to be something else but when I saw this shoot from Kimie James of IYQ Photography I was stunned and literally had the breath knocked out of me from the gorgeousness that was wrapped up in the zip file. I had to step back and absorb all the goodness that was on my computer screen but I knew the minute I saw the two image sneak peek that it would be the cover. And I have to take a second to thank a good friend that I’ve made in the wedding blog world, Megan of Grace and Glamour. She talked about doing a brand shoot. A styled shoot that symbolizes your brand and what you want people to envision when they think about your brand and this shoot is totally that. When I think of Pretty Pear Bride, I think of an outlet allowing a plus size bride to see inspiration, whether it’s bridal or any aspect of her life, that looks like her and is fabulous. And this shoot translates to that completely incorporating pink, gold and lace.
So often plus size women and brides are made to think that they can’t have these things, the softness of lace, the prettiness of pink and gold and how it makes you feel. This shoot resonates that so much, which is the epitome of what Pretty Pear Bride is, allowing plus size women and brides to see themselves in bridal inspiration. Thank you to Kimie of IYQ Photography for capturing that for us and allowing us to create bridal inspiraiton for plus size brides across the globe.
