Royal Wedding and the Plus Size Bridal Industry

Can you believe it’s been one year since Kate and William graced us with their royal presence and forever changed the bridal industry?

Kate and William had such a profound impact on the wedding industry.  They are the reason that so many wedding elements have been shifted to a more elegant, vintage and traditional feel.  Kate also changed the plus size bridal industry.

Before Kate donned her sleeved lace dress and made it COOL to wear sleeves, plus size brides were dealing with these non fashionable additions to their dresses.  Some plus size brides wear them to cover up their arms, some wear them as added protection but whatever the reason, it was neither cool or attractive just something that a plus bride did to feel comfortable.  But since the royal wedding and Kate “Bringing Sleeves Back” {I’m bringing sexy back, I had to do it!} plus brides and any bride for that matter have been able to wear their sleeves, jackets and boleros with no second glances, sideways looks or “OH, she’s wearing sleeves in the summer because she’s big {yes, people do say it!}

So my hats go off to Kate and William for changing the bridal industry but more importantly changing the plus size bridal industry!
