The marching band will always have a soft spot in my heart. Yes, I was a marching band member. I played the clarinet, baritone and trumpet, of course not at all one time. LOL! So when I got this amazing submission that included a trumpet player and color guard, I couldn’t wait to share it with you all.
From the Bride
We grew up in the same small town, ran into each other in different circles of friends, and then in high school we did marching band together. I had a HUGE crush on this adorable trumpet player, and couldn’t help but just swoon over him. Adam was totally intimidated by this confident, aggressive color guard girl (ahem, me) because I kept asking him out on dates and told him how cute he was. High school passed them by, we went our separate ways as friends, and then reconnected while we were in college. One night, when we met at our hometown train station to say hello, a spark was reignited.
Adam proposed on our trip to Lake Champlain on New Years’ Eve of 2009. We spent a majority of our night at Adam’s favorite Irish pub, bringing in the new year with laughs and lots of bubbly! The ball dropped, we kissed, and we went on our merrily way. As we slipped up the snowy hill from the pub and back to our room, Adam jokingly tumbled down onto the snow-covered ground and needed my help up. Before I could catch my breath, when I realized Adam had gotten up on one knee, he proposed. With teary eyes we kissed, and I said “yes!”
