REAL WEDDING | Steel Blue and Cranberry Fall Wedding in Virginia | Elevated Events of VA

I always love sharing weddings from my home state because growing up in Virginia was great. We had all 4 seasons and it was amazing experiencing all that it had to offer.  So when I get weddings from that region of the country I’m always excited and then when it is from my hometown that’s even better.  Today’s fall wedding took place in Richmond, Virginia, my old stomping grounds, and I can’t wait until you see all that my home state and town has to offer! Check it out below!
Tell us about the wedding: “This love story begins when boy meets girl in the midst of hunting season. When the “farmer’s daughter” stumbled upon her country boy casanova, he happened to be dressed head to toe in camouflage. Despite his muddy boots, thick beard, and backwards blaze orange hat, she had no doubt he was a charmer! From “first sight” it was only a short while before plans were made for a first date. After she spent nearly an eternity perfecting her outfit, hair, and makeup , and after he spent just as much time cleaning his truck, showering in cologne, and deciding on a pair of “good jeans”…the moment had arrived!
The evening of March 20, 2011, he picked her up in his shined up Chevy, plaid button down shirt, and his favorite “good jeans”. Although half expecting the “Mossy Oak Model” that she first laid eyes on, he walked in and swept her off her feet like a modern day Rhett Butler! From his smile, genuine charm, and that subtle southern drawl it was only a matter of time before he stole her heart. The first date was followed by a second…the very next day! From that day forward, they began to Laugh, Love, and Learn together. During that following hunting season, he was lucky enough to “Learn” that his sweetheart occasionally wore camouflage!
During the season of holiday parties, tinseled trees, and the famous Christmas roast this love story turned a page to a whole new chapter. Having “unwrapped” the keys to their new home in October, they were preparing to decorate it for their 6th Christmas together. From the fancy winter wreath on their brand new front door to their 8ft tree that she “convinced” him would fit (and it did…barely) the holiday spirit started to fill the air with ‘good tidings of comfort and joy’.
However, the highlight of the every Christmas was the Garden Festival of Lights at Lewis Ginter! Little did she know, this particular visit would be the most memorable festival of all. As the tour started, she was in awe of all the twinkling lights in their rainbow of colors. Then what seemed like a break to take those traditional ‘christmas card’ family photos, suddenly took a surprising turn. Surrounded by their loved ones, he took a knee and asked her to be his forever! After she proceeded to ugly cry, and become physically weak in the knees, she managed to get herself together, gave a nod, and said YES!”
