Romantic Garden Wedding, plus size bride,

REAL WEDDING | Romantic Garden Wedding | Misty C Photography

From Ana’s gorgeous bridal details to the mariachi band during the reception, these two thought of everything for their perfect wedding day! The bridesmaids wore different blush colored dresses, and the bouquets were beautifully made with pops of brighter pink. Their details were elegant, and timeless, and it was a beautiful wedding day!

Analilia & David

How did you meet? David and I met while we were out with friends for a drink and late night tacos. David approached me and we spent a couple hours talking. The night ended, he asked for my phone number and we went our separate ways. There was definitely a spark and we’ve been together ever since!

What is your proposal story? David proposed while we were in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We were on the dance floor and his brother, Samuel tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a rose. I realized a line of David’s closest family members all holding roses. They each handed me a rose and at the end of the line, was David who got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding: Our vision for our wedding was for it to be romantic, elegant and timeless. Our colors were blush, navy with a touch of gold. Our florists did an amazing job on our centerpieces for our ceremony and reception. We worked on small details to bring it all together like an elegant welcome sign, an ice cream cart, and an agua fresca bar!

Tell us about your attire choices. My dress was Allison by Rebecca Ingram. It was an elegant ballgown with embellished straps and an beautiful lace illusion back. I found a cathedral length veil on Etsy that matched the lace to the dress perfectly. For accessories I used Givenchy double drop earrings and a matching bracelet.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? The most important thing for us was to make this a memorable and personal day for us and our families. We wanted quality photographs to look back on and we found the most amazing photographer, Misty C. Photography! Not only does Misty provide quality work but she’s so sweet, thoughtful and provides a personalized service. I am self-conscious about my body and was nervous about our photographs.I was so ecstatic to see how gorgeous our photos turned out! I couldn’t have a better photographer!

What were your favorite parts of the day? My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look and our ceremony, in particular our personal vows. I am a bit of a traditionalist so I hadn’t considered a first look but I am so glad my photographer suggested it. I was so nervous and sharing that private and intimate moment with David put me at ease. I was so calm and relaxed the rest of the day! For our vows we did traditional vows along with personal vows. It was quite emotional but sweet to hear each other’s promises to each other.

Tell us about your wedding flowers. For our wedding flowers, I picked out white and blush roses, hydrangeas and eucalyptus for our centerpieces. I chose a hand-tied bouquet for myself that matched the same color scheme as our centerpieces and ceremony floral arrangements.

Tell us about your wedding cake. Our wedding cake had three tiers, chocolate, strawberry and lemon. It was simple but elegant with white frosting and cascading flowers.

What did you do for favors? We opted to not do favors since I’d heard that oftentimes they are forgotten or tossed by guests. Instead we chose to rent a photo booth with props. Our guests really enjoyed it and it was fun to see their photos!

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions? Both my husband and I are Mexican-American and we followed tradition and did “La Vibora de la Mar”. Men and women are divided each group creating a chain by holding hands, two chairs are placed in the middle of the dance floor and the bride and groom form an arc. Two to three people help to hold the bride and groom while the “vibora” tries to knock down the bride and groom.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now? The best advice I would give to a couple planning their wedding is to not lose sight of why you’re doing this. Things may go wrong, things might not end up perfectly but out of all this world, you chose each other to spend the rest of your lives together. Don’t stress about the little stuff, at the end of the day you’re still getting married.
