College sweethearts Allison and Cory are our featured couple on the blog on this lovely day. The two met at an apartment party and Cory managed to track Allison down via Facebook. Their wedding was full of lots of fun details, including a selfie booth in place of a photo booth (the two just bought a couple selfie sticks and guests went to town!). Read on for more of their exciting and happy day!

How did the two of you meet? We met at a party at my apartment when we were in college. My friend Janelli’s boyfriend (now husband!) texted Cory and told him to come over as he was at a party full of girls. I hadn’t planned on going out that night, but when I saw him, I knew I wanted to get to know him better! He didn’t get my number that night, but found me on Facebook, we started chatting, and the rest is history! Describe your engagement: He popped the question while we were at home, in our pjs. We had wanted to go look at Christmas lights and he was going to do it then, but I was too tired and foiled his plans! The weather on your wedding was: Chilly and very windy! It was snowing in the morning when we woke up, but the sun later came out! Describe your wedding flowers: I wanted springy pastel colors. I have always loved daisies, and I knew the white daisies would look clean and simple next to my multi-colored bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen’s ties! Describe your wedding cake and any other desserts: Our cake was a 2 tiered, blinged-out cake! Cory’s step-mom made it, and it turned out amazing, I didn’t know what it was going to look like! The guests were served sheet cake, with rosettes on them, from a favorite local bakery. We were able to get different flavors for about half the price! We had lemon poppyseed with raspberry filling, almond cake with lemon filling, and marble cake. Describe your menu and your favorite part: We chose a duet plate of chicken breast in a white wine sauce and beef tips. Everyone got the same meal and I thought this was great because it took the guess work out of the RSVPs, and people just had to let us know if they had any dietary restrictions! Your first dance song: At Last by Etta James The thing that we would have done differently is? I think I would have had a bit less time between the actual ceremony and dinner. We had a 2 pm ceremony and dinner was served at 6. We ended up eating early because I felt like we were waiting around! If we could have spend our wedding dollars differently, we would have: I don’t think I would have changed a thing! Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Our pastor (my aunt and godmother) surprised us during the ceremony by having us build a cross together, made out of wood and twine. We both absolutely love that we made it together, and love what it represents. The most unique element of the day: Instead of hiring a photobooth, we had a selfie booth! I had a ton of props and bought a couple of selfie sticks! People had a blast with it! Your advice for other plus size brides: Don’t think you have to have sleeves on your dress! I never thought I would be able to rock a strapless dress. But be sure you have an amazing seamstress, they will know exactly what to do to make sure it fits you well! Three adjectives that describe the day: Fun, Beautiful & Happy What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? That not much has changed! We lived together for about 5 years before we got married, so we had everything pretty much down pat. But we are discovering that every day is a new adventure.
