{Real Wedding} Navy and Pink Nautical Seaside Seattle Wedding | Ana Bella Photography

Boy do we have a treat for you today! Jade and Matt are showing us their beautiful pink and navy wedding on the blog today. Ana Bella Photography shot their gorgeous wedding on a retired Washington State Ferry Boat. Jade and Matt’s first date was Sunday Brunch (my kind of date!). Matt proposed on top of the Seattle Space Needle. I’d say he’s a keeper! Enjoy the intimate details of this spectacular Washington state wedding!

Memories and Stories about the Day you would like to share:  1. I purchased three, yes three, wedding dresses! My first dress was a simple fit and flare lace dress. We placed the order, and about 3 months later I just felt like it lacked that “pop”. I went back to the store to try it on again and calm my fears, but they had sold it off the rack a few hours before I got there! Meanwhile I was pining over a PINK dress. The one I found wasn’t available in any shops where I lived, so my mom went on a MISSION to find it. She found it at a local shop in Minnesota and off she went to see it. And then, SHE tried it on, and BOUGHT it! In her opinion it was THE one! About a month later, the vendor canceled the dress, 90 days before my wedding! Posh Bride to the rescue. They took my two loves, lace and pink, and worked with Matthew Christopher to make it happen getting me a pink lining in my dress that wasn’t offered. I finally had my bridal moment when I saw my dress for the first time just a few weeks before my wedding!
2. Our “first look” still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. I had never felt more beautiful than I did in that moment. Matt was speechless, but his face said it all. He just kept saying “wow”, until he said “you look stunning”, and then it was right back to “wow”. Find the man that makes you feel BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out!
(note: I think we submitted pictures of this- if you don’t have one, let me know, my photographer can get you some of these, they are great)

How did the two of you meet? We met the old fashion way, ONLINE! Seems everyone is meeting online these days!

Tell us about your first date: Our first date story is the BEST! Matt had chosen a restaurant close to his house, you know, in case he didn’t like me, he could just make it a short date! We settled on a Sunday Brunch, its my favorite meal! He had gotten to the restaurant first and picked a table with a great view. About 5 minutes into the date I noticed a few beads of sweat on his forehead and thought to myself, maybe he’s warm because he’s sitting in the sun. A few minutes later those beads of sweat were rolling down his face, and his hair line was wet. Fast forward 10 more minutes and he’d sweat through his shirt! Poor guy was SO nervous! He excused himself and was gone for a while in the bathroom pulling himself together/drying his shirt! Most bathrooms in Seattle have one of those hand dryers, but not this one! He had taken his shirt off, and was in the bathroom fanning it, trying to get it to dry! When he returned, we finished brunch and he wanted to continue our date, but I had shopping plans with a girlfriend. So he asked to take me to dinner the same night, but I declined because I was having dinner with my girlfriends. We had dinner the following night and pretty much every night since then!

Describe your engagement: Matt wanted to propose at the top of the Space Needle, so made up a client business dinner. (there is no way he would have gotten up there otherwise!) When we on the observation deck his clients called to “cancel”. We decided to stay and have a fancy night out and he proposed over desert!

Describe your Flowers: When we got engaged, I knew I HAD to have a June wedding because my whole life I dreamed of a wedding filled with peonies! (June is their peak season, which makes them most affordable during that time) Well the ONLY available weekend night at our venue was Friday July 17th…just outside of peony season. Several florists said “tough luck”, but Maureen at Posh Wedding Flowers made my peony dreams come true, flying in peonies fresh from Alaska the week of the wedding. During our initial meeting I said “I want my wedding to look like it threw up peonies”, and she did not disappoint! We had over 300 stems of peonies, combined with garden roses and it was stunning!

Personal or handmade details: I wish I was craftier, but I found that Etsy was my best friend for small details that I couldn’t pull off on my own. I got my navy and white stripe table runners and my gold glitter vases there. I tried to make the vases myself, but they turned out to be an epic #pinterestfail! My sweet mom made all of the bow napkins that were at each place setting.  Our stationary vendor also created a logo for us that we used throughout the wedding to really pull all the details together. It was our initials as well as a bow and anchor. These symbols represented who we are and were a solid foundation in creating the vibe of our wedding.

The thing that we would have done differently is? I loved everything about my wedding, and there isn’t a detail I would change, or one choice I would have made differently. Our wedding screamed “Matt and Jade” and reflected our personalities completely. That being said, looking back, if there is one thing I would have changed, it would have been my mindset going into the planning. There is a lot of pressure to “keep up with the Jones’” in todays Pinterest wedding craze. There are so many great ideas, and so many people who are much more creative than I am; it’s easy to get caught up in all of the things you “should have” and all of the tiny details. If I could pass on one piece of advice from planning my wedding it would be to stay true to whom you and your husband are. No one missed the tiny details that didn’t make it into the final budget, no one missed the cute chalkboard sign, or the fancy snacks in the welcome bag with matching logos.
