REAL WEDDING | Elegant and Romantic Old World Italian Wedding in New York | Resonance Vision

Today’s wedding is a mix of elegance and the romance of old world Italy. I love this couple’s story because we have really seen it blossom from their engagement session to their amazing wedding.  I love how they incorporated a significant number “718” throughout their wedding, couple’s alway get me when they incorporate that personal touch to their special day. Check out their amazing day below.  Congrats!

Tasia & Sean

Tell us about your wedding: “Our wedding was held in Richmond Hill Queens, NY at a venue we had or hearts set on a few years prior. It’s also a 718 area code, which shares the same area code as it’s neighboring borough Brooklyn, our hometown. The numbers 718 were a significant part of our special day as it is a representation of not only my husband’s company “”718 Experiment””, but also the journey of our union (it all went down in the 718). Our hashtag was #A718Wedding. We went with Villa Russo in Queens opposed to keeping it in Brooklyn because, we initially fell in love with the venue and wanted to stay true to our 1st choice. Our wedding was chic and modern with a theme of black/white stripes, and pearls. Very elegant! Our Venue gave us a romantic feel of old Italy and the decor was simple and classy. Our personalities exude fun and that’s exactly what our wedding embodied. The ceremony was relaxed yet hilarious, but with serious moments… all at the right time. The reception was so much fun; filled with lots of dancing. It has been one of the best days of our lives, aside from when our 14-year-old son was born and we just couldn’t be happier!”

Wedding Colors:  Black and white with accents of gold

How did the two of you meet? We met in High School. It was during 4th period Science class when we first spoke to each other, although afterwards we didn’t speak much. Time passed and we became reacquainted through a mutual friend in 2002. The rest is history!

Describe your engagement: It was an ordinary day… I had no idea it was “the day”. Sean had the day off and decided to pick me up from work. We made a supermarket run and settled in our home that evening. A few weeks prior, he mentioned that he wanted to purchase a new watch. That evening he showed me a video of his visit to the jeweler, which showcased a few watches he was interested in. The video then went into a recording of the most beautiful engagement rings. Right then and there, in the kitchen… Sean pulled out this little black box and got on one knee. He professed his love for me followed by the big question. It was perfect! All done in the privacy and comfort of our own home. He chose home because of the intimate space and so that we wouldn’t have any outside distractions; it was solely about us. Plus, he wanted to create a memory in our home that we would cherish forever.

Describe your flowers: I wanted my centerpieces to be all white flowers for a simple yet sophisticated, clean-lined, airy look. I chose white hydrangeas. As for the bridal bouquets, there was a combination of peonies, gerberas, roses and calla lilies. I chose the pop of red in the peonies to compliment my lip color. I went for a bold, daring look. Boutonnieres were simple small white calla lilies for a modern flare.

Memories and Stories about the Day: I remember our special day being so busy, yet so much fun. It was exciting and magical. The day was filled with nothing but love! We were so anxious about the ceremony and reception, but not nervous at all. We just couldn’t wait to finally make it official. 15 years in the making, we were ready! Both Sean and I had the time of our lives… if I could have a wedding every year, I seriously would. It was one of the most beautiful experiences we ever shared as a couple.

Your first dance song: It was a mix between “Adorn” by Miguel, “No more lonely nights” by Fiona (Reggae Song) and “Obsession” by Aventura (Bachata) We chose music that represented our cultures.

The thing that we would have done differently is? Take more alone time with each other.

Your advice for other plus size brides: Don’t put restrictions on dress styles because of your size. If you like the dress, go for it! Try it on first before canceling out the idea of wearing it. It just may be “the one”. Embrace who you are and how you look. Remember, your fiance proposed to you the way you were because he loves you and accepts you as you are. Don’t get so caught up in losing weight for your special day, unless it’s for health factors.

Three adjectives that describe the day: Heartfelt, Exciting, Fun

What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? Absolutely nothing changed! Having been together for so long, we just picked up where we left off. I was also surprised by the amount of times I said husband. I mean… I knew I would say it a lot, but I had no idea that my husband’s name would go from Sean to “husband”… I even said husband to people who knew who he was. (LOL) It was excessive!
