REAL WEDDING | BLUSH, PINK AND GOLD WEDDING IN BALTIMORE | Phelan Marc Photography

Today’s wedding is one for the books! I just love the colors, that were a mixture of blush and gold accents. I think those colors did such a great job making their industrial space seem soft and inviting. It’s amazing.  And as an added bonus the bride, yes the bride herself did all the stationery. She is an event stationery designer and her work is fabulous! This couple is such a dynamic couple, the bride does stationery and the groom is a local DJ.  And of course they got my heart with their two children being included in their sand pouring ceremony.  Check it all out for yourself.

Dionisa and David

How did the two of you meet? David was my a friend of my sister. I knew his as DJ Big Dave. He saw me one day and told her he just had to meet me! We starting hanging out that summer and have been together ever since! Describe your engagement: We had been together for a while and were expecting our second child when David proposed. We knew we were going to spend the rest of our lives together and even picked out the ring together. But because I was so impatient, David decided to be a prankster! He would tell me every day it was going to happen then on September 19, 2009, he hid the ring in the medicine cabinet! He told me to get him something from the cabinet and there it was! He then asked me and of course I said yes after fussing a little! Personal or handmade details: As a stationery designer, I cared most about the details. Everything had to be perfect. From my headpiece to food, every detail was not overlooked! But the one personal detail that meant the most to me was my mother’s necklace. She past way when I was 19 years old and my sister and I kept some of her jewelry. As a tradition, whenever a woman in my family got married, she wore her necklace. Instead of wearing it, I decided to have it wrapped around my bouquet. It was such a delicate beautiful touch. Describe your wedding flowers: I wanted soft flowers in blush pink with touches of white. My floral arrangements included: seeded eucalyptus, dusty miller, willow caging, silver brunia berry balls, roses, garden roses, Peonies, Ranunculus, spray roses, hydrangea. Memories and Stories about the Day: My favorite memory from our wedding was the first look photo we took. I was behind the barn door and I can see David’s back. When the doors opened and he turned around, I was overwhelmed with love and joy that I could not stop the flood works! It was such a beautiful intimate moment between the two of us before everything took place. It felt almost as time stopped for those few precious moments. Your first dance song: Love of My Life by Brian McKnight Our favorite detail of the wedding was: The food! I was very specific about having authentic Puerto Rican food and our caterer made it happen! It was delicious! Your advice for other plus size brides: My advice to other plus size brides would be to hire a planner! Although I was a bride who knew exactly what she wanted and had all my vendors lined up, I hired Completely Yours Events to help pull everything together and it saved me a lot of headache! I was able to worry about the little details that I wanted to focus on and they made sure everything ran smoothly. Three adjectives that describe the day: Magical, blissful and breathtaking What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage? That things didn’t change much. LOL The only thing that changed was I was now Mrs. Ortiz!
