Real Wedding: Beautiful Nova Scotia Wedding

All this week I have been at the ABC conference for Bridal Consultants and have been so inspired.  I’ve especially been inspired about making Pretty Pear Bride the best that it can be.  Right before I left, I recieved 3 real wedding submissions and I was astonished because I felt like my passion was one step closer to being fulfilled, which is to bring ALL plus size brides the bridal inspiration that they long to see.

So, I am so excited to share with ya’ll this amazing real wedding all the way from Nova Scotia!! YES, you heard me right, Nova Scotia.  I have never been but from these pictures I swear, I have started begging my hubby to take me.

Meet Kristen and Kyle!!!

My fiance purposed to me on valentines days 2010. We have known each other since elementary school. We set the wedding day for August 20th 2011. My colors were dark purple, black and white. I wanted a classic vintage feel, because I am really old school. We were married in a church and the reception was at the Best Western. We live in Liverpool Nova Scotia so this is where everything took place.

I decided I had to lose a lot of weight before the big day. I knew I wouldn’t be happy walking down the aisle as a plus size girl. I tried really hard and the most I lost was 10 pounds, which I most likely gained back at my bachelorette party! As my time ran short I got more and more stressed out. I tried my dress on the day before the wedding and I was not happy with the way I saw myself in the mirror. That night I thought to myself, I don’t care what others think of me tomorrow, all I care about is Kyle and he thinks I am beautiful. The wedding went perfect and the reception was so much fun! But in the back of my mind I was very self conscious and worrying about how I looked. Everyone said I looked beautiful but of course I wondered if they were just saying that because it was my wedding day.

I dreaded getting my photos back, I didn’t think I would like them at all. When I got them back I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn’t believe how I looked. I really believe that I looked amazing on my wedding day. I was so happy with my photos! I think if I ever do lose all the weight I want to Ill still be able to look back on wedding picture and think that I looked beautiful.

This wedding so touched my heart and I thank Kristen and Kyle for sharing their special day with us.
