Plus Size Fashions: Oscars to Bridal

Plus size fashions were in full effect on the Oscar Red Carpet last night and the elements that were present are definitely evident in plus size bridal.

When plus size brides look for bridal attire, they often forget to find styles that compliment and accentuate their body’s curves and shape.  It’s not bad, AT ALL, to show off your body’s curves.  So often plus brides think that their curves and shape should be hidden.  NOT TRUE!!!

Look at Octavia Spencer looking AMAZING  in this dress from her fav designer, Tadashi Shoji  that hugs all her gorgeous curves.

Another great trend we noticed on the Oscar Red Carpet was from Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, is the use of color.  She incorporated the beautiful blush color and also a high waist grecian style  flowing fabric, great for destination or summer brides.

She wore a custom blush-colored Marina Rinaldi gown with a jeweled neckline. Her shoes were from Brian Atwood.  She really demonstrates that plus brides can wear a more flowing, curve hugging dress.

So often plus size brides feel that they can only wear A line dresses because it will only hug their bodies in certain areas.  But as you can see from these two spectacular plus size woman that ROCKED the Oscars, there are so many more options out there.
