Levi proposed to Jessica with a vintage ring after a day of WOOFing at a vineyard and skydiving in New Zealand – so having their Engagement photos taken at a vineyard in Colorado had special meaning for this adventurous couple! Blue Mountain vineyards provided the perfect old oak barrel to pose with, as the sweethearts strolled and giggled through the rows of grapes on the property. The golden light played up the soft greens grapes of June and Jessica’s blush summer outfit. There’s nothing more romantic than watching the sun set with your fiance and a glass of wine -from the very bottle they brought back from New Zealand. Cheers!
How did you meet?We met at an 85% match on Ok Cupid. We talked online for a few weeks, and agreed to go out on a date at Red Robin. We spent 5 hours at Red Robin on January 16, 2014. We were there talking so late that the restaurant closed and had to kick us out. We agreed to get together again, and the rest is history!
What is your proposal story?On August 17, 2017, while traveling abroad in New Zealand, we decided to go bungee jumping. I jumped first, off of a bridge 141 feet from the river below. I climbed back up the long staircase out of the canyon, and watched Levi prepare to jump. After his jump, we reunited at the top of the bridge, and Levi got down on one knee. He said, “After bungee jumping, this doesn’t seem so scary. We’ve had so many adventures of a lifetime, that it’s time to have a lifetime of adventures. Jessica Crowder, will you marry me?” I was in tears, and delightedly said, “YES”!
Tell us about the ring/band. My engagement ring is 14kt white gold and diamond. There is one large diamond, 2 medium sized, and 6 small ones. The 3 large ones are marquise cut. My fiance and I picked it out together. We chose this one because it was not the typical or trendy engagement style, but it matched my personality very well.
Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.I had 2 outfits for our session. One was casual, jeans and a nice top. My formal outfit was a beautiful rosy color that I paired with rose-gold colored shoes and jewelry.
Any advice for your fellow plus size brides? I have been trying to lose weight for my wedding for several months. I was not the weight I wanted to be during my engagement session. But I found that I was as beautiful as I had ever been regardless of my size. My fiance loves me no matter how I look. My advice is to shop around for the dress that you love, because it will flatter you and make you as gorgeous as you can be.
