Dressing to your Body Shape as a Plus Size Bride for Engagement Parties

Dressing to your Body Shape as a Plus Size Bride for Engagement  Parties

Engagement parties are increasingly becoming a year round event, with couples choosing to celebrate their new union at receptions ranging from picnics, to wine bars and swish black tie affairs. How you, as a plus size bride, dress for an individual engagement party will depend on your knowledge of the event and where it is to be held. You’ll need to consider whether it will be out of doors, what can be expected of the weather and what time of day it will take place. Whatever the occasion, in order to look and feel your best, you’ll need an awareness of your own body shape and what suits you. Dress to enhance your best features, whilst playing down any areas you’d prefer to conceal.  The key is Dressing to your body shape as a plus size bride.

Women with an apple shape figure have a generous cleavage above a fuller tummy and more tapered thighs. Your upper body is one of your best assets, so choose an outfit that clings to your curvy chest and then tapers at the waist. Avoid fabrics that cling to your midriff or are tight around the stomach. A mid-length wrap dress is perfect and don’t forget a pair of heels to draw attention to those shapely legs.

Having a pear shape to your figure means you’ll have wider hips, a more petite top half and a smaller bust. Reveal your sensuous side in a sleeveless tunic dress; it will lengthen out your body and show off your sexy shoulders. The waist should not be dropped to your hip, but higher on your body for a long slinky look.

A bell body shape can develop later in life as our body ages and weight shifts onto the lower half. The key to looking good is to show off your upper body and waist, focussing attention away from your bottom and thighs. An A-line dress will showcase your figure beautifully, skimming your hip and thigh area without drowning your top half. Use jewellery to accentuate your neck and décolleté, or alternatively a silky colourful scarf can have the same effect.
