It’s so funny and yet remarkable how some people can find their soul mate in the most unlikely places. And amidst so many other things going on or other people around. So of course I had to share Ang and Cody’s story from their photographer Keira Marie Photography because like so many others they meet online but the difference in their story is that it actually worked out and they pretty much knew instantly that they were meant to be….which doesn’t happen for everyone.
Angela & Cody
Tell us about your first meeting.. In today’s technological world, it’s hard to believe that its more difficult now than before to find the love of your life. Dating sites are still all the rage yet are unsuccessful for most. Even though a person can enter all sorts of information to sort potential matches by, Angela has never come close to finding the right man. Then Cody came into her life one day by sending her a message in the chat app Skout. They talked about everything, from computer programing languages to what each was making for dinner over the next few days. Each looking forward to hear from the other, even checking their phones intermittently just in case a message were to come through from the other.
Tell us about your First Date… Finally Angela decided to ask Cody if he was interested in meeting for lunch. After all, they were only chat friends and did not meet on a dating site but she just couldn’t imagine continuing to build their friendship without actually meeting. They agreed to meet for lunch just two days later at Sansu, a sushi restaurant near Angela’s work. She arrived first, waiting patiently for him. Cody walked in a few minutes later and the world seemed to tilt on its axis. They spent an hour and a half chatting over lunch. Time flew by too quickly; as would become the theme for the next several dates. It was apparent to both that they just couldn’t get enough of each other.
Tell us about the proposal… Cody started prepping for the “big question” late January, merely a few months after the two first met. After much research he decided he wanted to propose to Angela around Valentine’s Day, the first romantic holiday the two would be celebrating by making a vacation weekend out of it. Cody proposed to Angela on February 15th, 2014, at Lellis Restaurant in Auburn Hills, Michigan. He sprung the question, surprising Angela, shortly after the couple ordered their meals. Angela was speechless, with the exception of responding with a “Yes” of course. The surprise proposal was a smashing success. The two finished their romantic dinner and returned to the hotel. The joy and excitement continued well into the evening with wine, cheese and snacks as well as relaxation in the hotel’s hot tub while the couple discussed wedding plans.
Tell us about your First Kiss… The first kiss was actually after their third meeting, or second “date.” They had spent the evening together having dinner and talking. Before they knew it, three hours had flown by. As they parted in the parking lot of the restaurant, Cody leaned in and kissed Angela after walking her to her car. It was what Angela had been waiting for. She wanted to feel that spark. When Cody kissed her, it was electric and she knew she couldn’t let him go.
