  1. I went to multiple plus size bridal boutiques in Los Angeles, but I did not have good experiences there. I had a good experience with Alfred Angelo, but I ultimately ended up going completely custom. I want to recommend Chevillon. JC is the owner and designer at Chevillon, and he is creating a completely custom gown for me, perfectly tailored to my curves for about the same price as I found dresses off the rack. He has made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, and I want all plus-sized brides in my area to know about him. He knows how to create something amazing that makes even the curviest of us look and feel gorgeous.

  2. I went to a couple of bridal salons, and ended up finding my dress at Diamonds and Lace in State College, PA. You know what I loved? Walking in, and never being asked my size. It was never asked, and there were plenty of things I could try on as a street size 18, even though they don’t specifically advertise to plus size brides. My consultant pulled different silhouettes for me to try, not just the silhouettes that would cover me up. Sometimes, dresses didn’t zip, sometimes they had to be pinned closed because they were too big. It was so refreshing to go somewhere and be treated like a bride with curves and height and a full chest to work with – not just as a size.

  3. Two stores to recommend:

    1. Always Elegant in Yuba City, California. Unbelievable staff is number one reason I recommend – dress selection is beautiful and carefully selected, but even more is how the team makes you feel like you are beautiful and cherished, and really know how to fit you into a dress and make you feel completely comfortable.

    2. Sparkle Bridal Couture in Sacramento, California. Beautiful, unique and original couture gowns in the $1000-$3000 range, sizes 14-30. Personal service, and the kind of fashion-forward and breathtaking dresses I never thought I would find as a plus size bride.
