{Fashion Friday} The Sash Trend
The sash is easily a plus size bride’s BEST friend. It can instantly pull an outfit together and add an element of chicness at the same time. (It also slims any waistline.) This trend has been all over the bridal runways this season in some form or another. Whether a simplistic silk ribbon or a lace band with a laser-cut flower. This detailing is even better when added to a plus size wedding gown with a lot of volume on the bottom, the sash reigns in and brings the eye upwards and toward the smallest part of you.
This gorgeous Lazaro gown from the spring/summer 2014 collection creates vintage drama through the intricate corset, layers of fabric and lace detailing, but then draws the eye with the unexpected flower sash.
I love this Hayley Paige gown with geometric lines. The fluttering, overlapping layers are stunning and pop even more with the simple grey sash, which brings the whole look together.
This Jim Hjelm gown is extremely unique. The high-low silhouette tulips out for a gorgeous train, while the oversized flower detailing on the sash adds a classic element to an otherwise fashion-forward dress.
